@SheepJumpFish She says PROPER surface area which is less since it's corse but she never says the surface area is smaller
-
@SheepJumpFish Unfortunately CHOW does not use the most knowledgeable people...
-
This video makes no mention of the actual devices used to grind. The title is misleading.

Cowboy cooks used to carry along the coffee grinder box on long drives. Don't know what they do today, maybe the same, maybe send somebody to Starbucks!!
-
@PerfectionObsessive I'm not disputing that, I merely stated that the smaller the particles, the greater the surface area, when dry at least
-
@SheepJumpFish just think of wet sand vs wet pebbles, sand will clump and create an almost impermeable surface while pebbles won't clump to that extent
-
@PerfectionObsessive don't really know what you're saying, but what I've said is not incorrect, though seemingly I misunderstood her saying proper surface area as in the most possible. But I really don't know why I watched this, it's of no interest to me.
-
@SheepJumpFish actually, coffee grinds clump up after being moisten, and the more finer the grind, the tighter the clump. That's why when we run water through a super find grind on a coffee filter, we find a curious hockey puck looking object.

@SheepJumpFish then she repeats it with espresso....so i dont understand her either....she definitely cant explain things properly...btw she looks like Dr.Oz
Now I don't have a clue why I watched this or anything about coffee grinding but when she says at 0:12 about needing surface area, the finer it is more surface area

If you think about it yes, the smaller the thing is the less of it is inside itself, if you know what I mean, so this means that what was inside the coffee is now on the outside, sorry for that shite explanation but look it up, tis incredibly simple
