Dougal Stevenson read the news on NZBC/TV1 for about 10 years until 1980. When the news operation was shifted from Avalon to Auckland he refused to go. Philip Sherry read news on NZBC/TV1 from 1969 to the mid 1980s, I think. He also read the news on TV3 in 1989-90 b4 being made redundant because the channel went bankrupt and was replaced by Joanna Paul. Don't hae any info on Bill Toft at the mo..
