2008 University of Florida Volleyball Season Highlights

The 2008 University of Florida Gator Volleyball team won their 18th consecutive SEC Championship. The Gators also advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. The Florida players earned many awards including: National Freshman of the Year, 3rd Team All-American, SEC Freshman of the Year, National Player of the Week and All-SEC for Kelly Murphy. Kristy Jaeckel and Colleen Ward were both named to the SEC All-Freshman team and received SEC Freshman of the Week honors during the season. Cassandra Anderson was also named to the SEC All-Freshman team and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week in December. Elyse Cusack was named All-SEC second team and an All-American Honorable Mention. The Gators also excelled off the court as Kelsey Bowers received the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
