It doesn't necessarily mean that all those things were created in the 90's... It's more so the fact that those were POPULAR in the 90's during our childhood. Yeah, Super Mario and everything else you listed were created in the mid 80's, but you can't tell me all those things weren't popular in the 90's. And yeah cell phones existed, but barely anyone had them.

Ninja turtles TV show, no earlier than 1989, and certainly only came to me & my schoolmates' attention circa 1990 - I can remember us singing it at our teacher late on in the 89/90 year classroom. My own first cell (and a (forced!) pioneer amongst my friends) was mid 1998. Google didn't make Chrome until the late noughties. Super mario in 3D, and even on the SNES, is wholly 90s. Anything "still popular" or "had a revival" still counts.
