OK, you just showing out now...you pulling out some Dorothy Love Coates I haven't heard. She's my favorite--no offense to anyone, but I'll take her and them Harmonettes over any of the old school, yeah even over the Caravans:-)

"...O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him...." YES LORD!! {tears in my eyes} HE's been good!!

That's the FIRE! Somethng happens when you get serious about Thanking GOD for all that HE has done. When you know, what you know about The LORD GOD Healing you, Delivering you, Saving you, etc., etc.; bringing you a mighty long way from where you were, it is so good to acknowledge that. This GOSPEL Music by Sis. Dorothy Love Coates has truly been a Blessing to me and I Thank GOD fot it and Thank you for posting it.

The best it is.... Traditional Gospel Music is gone... but there are a few of us young folk that know something about the songs that got our people over..... and through... I intend to open a school specializing in Traditional gospel music... let us all pray for the future of Gospel Music! God Bless!

Does anyone have a copy of her song Mother Told God or know where it can be found?

Your grandmother has been and inspiration to all that hear her voice and ministry. I used to speak with your grandmother by phone and she was never to busy to talk with me and about the goodness of GOD. You and your family are truely blessed. I also enjoyed talking with your aunt Lillian. She is dynamic as well as the harmonettes. Be Blessed! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE DOROTHY LOVE COATES. SHE IS MAY FAVORITE GOSPEL SINGER!

I do love, Dorothy Love Coates. When I was just 13yrs old, the harmonetts would come to Augusta,Ga, home of the swanee Quintett, I would go to their programs, and just feel her spirit as a young girl. I am 73yrs old nnow and know and sing most of her songs. This one I sang at my retirement in 1999. I am so glad I met this woman of god. Her songs are so scriptual. This one is one of my many favorites. God Bless you for all of her music.

I love this song thank you so much!! He has truly brought me from a mighty long way!
Wow, I can't believe you have this. This is one of my favorite songs from the 1980's I was kid when this lady at my church would sing this. I've never heard of this lady but she can sing. Is she the original singer of this song and when was it recorded.

Yes indeed! This is the original composer and recording artist of this great song. Dorothy Love Coates has written soooo many songs that are still sung today, like "They Got The Word" and "I'm Just Holding On" both recorded by the Mississippi Mass Choir. Dorothy's "They Got The Word" is originally titled "A City Built Four Square."

No, this isn't the Shrine. The Shrine was from 1955...this recording is from 1972. The group accompanying Dorothy Love Coates are the DLC Gospel Singers. I'm so glad that you enjoyed. Take care and God Bless!

I don't know the name of the album, however I do know that it was a concert featuring other artists as well. Someone sent me a Dorothy Love Coates CD a while back, and those 2 songs were a part of the compilation that was made for me.
