@samfisherman007 The political bosses in mainland China were, and remain very jealous and resentful of people like Lady Anson Chan: well-educated, worldly and perfectly comfortable speaking Oxford-style English.

Her English is just so good! I'm from HK and been living in Australia for almost 10 years now and still not as good as her in terms of Grammar.
