This classic 1970 adventure 'Inferno' sees the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) try and flee an alternate universe in which the Earth is turning into a giant ball of burning flame after an experiment goes wrong.

The story 'Turn Left' with Catherine Tate is very similar to this and I felt the music fitted in well with it. Please rate and comment!

  • 2:53... Really creepy music... 0_0

I think it has occurred in some of the tenth doctor's episodes too... It sounds familiar. 0.o

  • I actually borrowed the music from Turn Left for this episode. It makes the scene a bit more exciting and parrallels with Turn Left which is also an alternate universe story.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Idiotic thing to do. Music which was specially composed (tailor-made, as it were) for one production is just lumped onto another. Amazing how stupid some people can be when they're trying to be clever.

  • @SimonTalksWHO Pertwee's first season had 3 7-parters mostly due to budgetry and time reasons - they could build bigger and better sets because they didn't need as many since there were less stories in the season.

Oddly while some of Pertwee's 6-parters dragged a bit, these three 7 parters (Silurians, Ambassadors of Death and Inferno) are amongst some of the best Who ever

  • why is it a 7 parter? weird.,...ive seen parts 3 (1 2 and 3 _) are good

  • music is too out of place, too loud and too modern

  • Is this the climax of the story?

  • I love Nicholas Courtney as "The Brigade Leader", I wish they could have shown more of him

  • @marcsharp82 It was a rainy, boring afternoon. :)

  • for me Inferno is the Best of the Jon Pertwee episodes

  • Fantastic!! You made one of the most terrifying sequences in the history of Doctor Who even scarier!! You sir, are a master of atmosphere! You should consider a career in sound mixing or whatever you call this sort of thing on a professional level.
