  • hi, do those mouth guard also mould to the bottom teeth? cos i find that in my sport, a wrestling type sport, my jaw often gets pushed to the side when i wear my mouth guard that is only moulded to my top teeth. but when i wear my cheap $5 mouth guard its moulded to my bottom teetha nd doesnt slip as much even tho the fit is not as tight. and are there any type of custom made mouth guard that i should avoid

  • A mouth guard custom fit to the upper teeth should provide sufficient protection (that is what boxers wear). If you catch a elbow, foot, etc in the mouth, all bets are off, your mouth guard probably would not protect you here either. With a guard on the top teeth only, you are able to get better air flow in your mouth than you would with both arches covered. No type of mouth guard to stay away from. The custom fit will fit better, but the cheap boiled type can work fine if they fit decently.

  • hey!i just bought a mouthguard for rugby!must the mouth guard be loose or fittin on the teeth??pls reply soon!

  • Sorry for the late reply. For Rugy or any sport you will have the best protection with a tight fitting guard that's dentist fitted. Boil and bites are the loosest fitting but are obviously better than no protection. I would recommend taking it and asking your dentist since he could examine it while it's in your mouth. Hope this helps.
