Jagjit Singh's Interview - Part 1

Jagjit Singh is a renowned Urdu ghazal singer from India. He started his career in 1960's when there were a lot of famous ghazal singers in India and Pakistan like Noor Jehan, Mehdi Hasan, Fareeda Khanum, Lata Mangeshgar and Begum Akhtar. They used to sing in classical way whereas Jagjit Singh started playing with instruments and added some new touch to the Urdu ghazal singing. He is also known as the master of modern ghazal singer. Madeeha Anwar interviewed him about the developments he has seen in the tradition and art of Ghazal singing.
