im pretty sure kurt used to listen to husker du bro, and dave from nirvana has a song with bob mould

i have to agree with morgoth195. bob mould never sold out to MTV and because of that, at the time, 99% of journalists paid Du no attention. only years later while bob was heading up sugar and then solo were journalists ready to proclaim Du as something special. these "journalists" from Spin and Rolling Stone only praised Du due to social pressure. at the time, the mags were consume with REM and other sell outs to pay any attention to great bands like Du.......

I noticed that Bob Mould is playing what looks like a Gibson Explorer for this concert instead of the Ibanez Super Rocket Roller Sr (basically, a Gibson Flying V clone) that he used during his Husker Du years.
Anybody know the reason why?

@alphasparqy He's blown out his voice numerous times...he takes better care of it now. He quit smoking years ago and quit drinking. But he has allergies and sometimes that effects his voice in the venue.

@morgoth195 What? Journalists where the ones who made them what they are, they're one of the most critically acclaimed bands of all time.

@p4horror What i love about SST is that every band on the label sounds different.

What a killer performance this was by Husker Du. Husker Du, as well as the 80s SST roster, were just awesome musicians & songwriters. Husker Du, Black Flag, Minutemen, Meat Puppets; etc. was my soundtrack music as a teen in the 80s to present day. Just timeless tunes that still floor me 25 years later.

oh jesus.id give my left nut to see bob mould and the huskers live just once.i was born in the wrong time;(

@TallFastLoud that's what they mean by underrated, that they aren't as well known as they should be
In the larger world of music, they don't get enough credit. Nirvana practically ripped them off, and Nirvana was a world-wide phenomenon. In all honesty, I don't care that Hüsker Dü are under-rated by asshole journalists, but they do deserve to be named among the most influential groups in rock history, along with the Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

haha thank you dude! i love husker du but I'm sick of people talking about how underrated they are. sure, people who don't listen to this kinda stuff don't mention them but most people who listen to "alternative" (blech!) music refer to them as one of the best bands of all time. they get plenty of credit in the underground (jesus who made up these fucking stupid terms?)
