@titanpredbrent Right, which explains why the officer on murfreesboro just north of sam ridley was directing traffic towards I-24.. So you got stuck on the eastbound freeway, great, atleast you didnt get swamped on the way to murfreesboro, my issue is with the idiot captian who didnt listen to his officers, shut down roads that didnt need to be closed because they werent flooded, and sent the cars WEST on 24, which then got swamped.
@Morndenkainen They were keeping them off of I24 in Lavergne east bound because it was a parking lot untill 6pm, I WAS THERE! They were keeping them off of I24 west bound because there were cars and buildings floating 2 exits down. Look, I understand you being pissed, obviously you were directly involved like myself or you would not be as upset as you are. Not saying it wasn't botched to a degree but you name one munincipality in this country not used to floods that would of done a better job.
@titanpredbrent Extra precautions? Like knowing where they were sending the people they were re-routing and keeping them off I-24, where they got stuck while the waters continued to rise? Face it, the captian in charge of the situation did a shit job by not getting input from their officers on the street. You dont have any business doing a job like that if your going to do it blind and deaf. And the officers on the street are the eyes and ears, and every city has a topography map.
@Morndenkainen I am not saying you wrong or right but when A captain is expected to give an order and the entire city is inudated like Lavergne was on 5-1-2010 ( I seen Waldron rd. before I was stuck on 24 and it looked like a freaking lake) you can't help to think maybe he was taken extra precaution. Yes, the officers should of been able to make on site decisions. Lets just be glad that us in Rutherford Co. didn't end up worse than we did.
@titanpredbrent Oh, I plan on it.. Im going in to have a meeting with the mayor and explain to him that he needs to fire his dipshit captian that doesnt bother to give his officers the authority to determine wether or not a road is safe to drive on. Afterall, why else would we send the officers off to be trained to do their job? Im quite confident they can tell the difference between a wet road, a road with an inch of water on it, and a flooded road that NEEDS to be closed.
@Morndenkainen Well damn! Since you seem to know how to do a much better job than the Idiot Captian and probably the Chief, why don't you apply for there job??? You can explain to the Commision how you would do a better job because you wouldn't cause inconveinence on people by shutting down roads even if it meant the lives of other people of inferior intelligence to yourself. I got a laugh at nothing buddy! I was stuck between OHB and Waldron rd. on 24 for 2 hours.
@titanpredbrent And no, the people who died in their cars yesterday were fucking idiots. They tried to drive through DEEP and QUICKLY MOVING water, rather than a couple of inches, and were swept away because of it. When there's less than an inch of standing (Not moving) water on the road, it does NOT need to be shut down.
@titanpredbrent You DID see the videos of how that turned out right? Of course you think the idiot police captian that ordered the closures without first finding out if the roads actually needed to be closed did a good job there, probably because you got a good laugh out of it.
