Joachim Raff: Cavatina op. 85 No. 3 (piano transcription: Ernst Pauer)

Raff's Cavatina, originally written for violin and piano, is perhaps his best-known work. This arrangement is by Ernst Pauer (1826-1905), who, with his son Max, was one of the 19th century's most industrious transcribers of orchestral and other works for piano solo. He was also a composer in his own right.
