Virginia Zeani Most Beautiful Looking Opera Singer

Virginia Zeani, the brilliant Romanian born soprano, whose international career lasted from 1947 to 1982, was universally considered to be visually the most beautiful female opera singer in the world. She was likened to such goddesses of the silver screen as Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner and Gina Lollobrigida. Reviews at the time describe her as "a raven haired beauty " and say "she has everything, the looks the voice, the style'... "She is a beautiful creature ... a Violetta to be grateful for, a looker, a singer and an actress" ...
Her beauty is all the more striking because it is without vanity; as the photographs show, she herself seems scarcely aware of it.

Angela Gheorghiu, who always says Zeani is her idol and role model, describes her as "Sooooh beautiful".

The aria is "Dis moi que je suis belle" from Massenet's opera Thais. She asks Venus "Tell me I will be beautiful for ever more - "eternellement".
