When they are not breeding what type of substrate do you use?I know they get stuff in their mouth while eating,so I am concerned about mine getting impacted with most anything.

It depends on what time of the year it is. Our breeders are kept on moist paper towels during the breeding season and on coco fiber (Eco Earth) for the off season. If they do ingest some of it, the coco fiber will pass without causing an impaction. If they tend to ingest alot, feed them in a separate container.

how deep is the water? are they on a raised platform? do they like a particular texture or rock? What temperature do you run the rain chamber at for pacman frogs?

The water should never be too deep, they are horrible swimmers....they are terrestrial frogs and will drown in water that is too deep. As for the rest, you have to tweak to your frog's needs.

We always use de-chlorinated water.....we do not test the PH or alkalinity in it.

No, they are not. We have been breeding them for 5 years now. We know what we're doing. They are only together during mating and are removed from the breeding chamber after spawning is complete.
