UFC 7 Sept. 1995 Alternate Match Highlights taped from an old pay-per view video....During those early UFC days, there were no wieght classes and no gloves. It wasn't as organized as it currently is in the modern day. Head Butts and all that nonsense allowed made for bloody messes.
The format was for a Bracketed Tournament. Meaning you litterally had to fight 3 fights in one night to win.

This was an alternate match, which meant that if someone was injured fighting in the main draw...then an alternate could take his place for the prize.

I was the smallest man in the tourney and of course an unknown. Still i'm thankful they let me in as an alternate.

I have respect for anyone who sets foot in the ring. I learned allot from these experiences and just as MMA and Martial Arts has been constantly evolving and improving...I feel that I have also personally improved allot since those days.
My purpose for putting it up after so long was mostly for posterity I guess. That and the old VHS video was begining to get White Fuzzy Spots on the film itself. I figured I better save it before total degredation.

My training was a serious concentration of both my fathers' Pinoy Arts and also traditional Hung Gar Kuen.

I've never shown this anyone before because frankly I don't know if anyone likes seeing themselves or what they LOOKED like more than 16yrs into the past. I can't stand looking at it because I believe that I've matured into a much better fighter now and so has my understanding of Hung.

I must stress that MMA is still a SPORT and DOES NOT Equate to real world Self Defense. I think that any mature martial artist recognizes that there is a clear difference between them.

Once a person realizes this, then they can see that Traditional arts are still valid and have a place in our modern world.

So train hard, it's the person not the art

  • This is one of the many reasons why some forms of martial arts can't compete in MMA rules competition... many great and effective techniques are not allowed...

  • mabuhay ka!

  • @PikaAttack no future for a retard you mad? get a life kid *_*

  • No kung-fu in the ufc becaues it doesn't work, umad?

  • @Subitai

White horse presents hoof, naughty monkey kicks tree, hungry tiger catches goat, hang a golden star at corner, Lohan hits gong, black tiger steals heart, child disciple presents blessings, green frog sits on ground, (?)Lohan riding dragon(?)

  • pinoy pride!!!

  • So which style won.

  • "its like porno, but with kung fu instead of sex" hahaha! bloody nipples!

  • @papertiger7 I'm afraid I don't accept this. I raking wasn't legal, even in the early UFCs- Sifu gets away with it here because the rules weren't so strictly enforced. Almost all standing techniques are allowed except eye strikes and headbutts- which covers the majority of strikes in CMA.
