@lazrpo Not to mention Green Day's American Idiot take-over. Along with Weezer, bands like My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and the Killers were hugely popular as well... the mid 2000's may not have heard the best as far as rock music is concerned, but at least the genre was still alive... rock is seemingly absent from the mainstream today. it's fucking sad

@chat099 I know you're being kinda sarcastic/jokey, but Weezer was all over MTV in 2005 with Beverly Hills/Perfect Suituation/We Are All On Drugs all being fairly popular videos. on the station.

I dunno why but before picking Mikey, Weezer put an ad in the L.A. Weekly looking for a bassist. I was interviewed on the phone but didn't list Weezer as my main influence, so I didn't get to audition. Mikey was much better than me anyway. Another great musician gone too soon! RIP Mikey!
