  • love the video! dont know, its odd to see the hip enphasis part. not saying its wrong, its just ai've never seen this aside from chen taiji

  • @rossik Thanks. Waist power is valuable and beneficial to any martial arts, even though it's most heavily see and emphasized in Chen Taiji. We do have Chen in our lineage as a separate line of study so there has been a desire to bring some of the benefits of the waist power and relaxation emphasis into mantis.. it's a great combo. This is an intentionally exaggerated display to help students understand how to incorporate this, though obviously at faster speeds this won't end up looking the same.

  • Nice form. How about some applications?

  • @thelordsfieldhand This is just the demos from the form DVD, but there are tons of apps shown on the DVD, literally for every motion in the form. We may end up excerpting some of those here on YT at some point (other apps for techniques, including some present in this form are already in this channel elsewhere), but in the meantime, there is one free lesson that shows apps from techniques in this form at MartialSkillUniversity (dot) com , our online/distance learning site.

  • I really enjoyed all the videos I've seen thus far. Is Mantis the only martial art you practice?

Your speed ,balance, everything very nice. I'm sure your generating alot of power when striking.

This is a style I really would like to learn.Where r you guys from? Thank you.

  • this is amazing, am a Taoist

  • this is amazing, am a Taoist now and am doing eenrgy breathing (need to raise the level) I also follow open palm.

  • this is amazing, am a Taoist now and am doing eenrgy breathing (need to raise the level) I also follow open palm for most but when I do kung fu I do fall into the clenched fist, I try and not limit myself to stay true to myself. Also I do Tai Chi Kata and Kung Fu I do Mantis but I do know some Monkey, Tiger and Five styles (my favorite wish to learn it). Any ideas how can I get martial training near Warsaw?

  • High level qi xing tang lang!

    Really well done.

Probably the first time i can see a good beng bu taolu on youtube.

  • Is it possible to do a Paoquan version (Fire Fist, Pounding) on this taolu?

  • Thanks for the speedy reply. Peace.
