To me, the "walls of grace" in this song has always made me think of a large amount of grace shielding and protecting that they may carry on.
I get what you mean, though.
If I'm lonely and hurting my first thought isn't "gee, I sure wish I had a wall".
But if you take a moment to consider what it may truly mean, it sounds much nicer.
