When I saw the clip from the Borat movie, I was hoping it would be a parody of poking fun at Christians, but really it doesn't do anything to embarass the church or your faith. If anything it makes you look genuine, loving and trusting. I was touched to see how sweet, loving and good your church was. So it really doesn't matter what was intended, as long as YOU did the right thing. You don't have to explain to anyone !!! Love can never be embarassed!

I agree

I'm actually a non-Christian Humanist, and I felt bad for what "Borat" did to the people of that Church. It was probably the most disrespectful and mean-spirited thing I've ever seen in a movie. It disgusted me how Cohen betrayed those peoples' genuine kindness and made a mockery of it. I disagree with your beliefs, but at the same time, I would never, EVER support the kind of abuse that monstrous "comedian" piled onto you.

It is so important to realize the usages of tongues in the Bible. There is the unknown tongue (God's language), and there is the "gift of tongues" and they are two very different things. When we speak in an unknown tongue NOBODY understands but God and nobody is edified but ourselves. The gift of tongues will require an interpretation to be meaningful to others, and yes, that type IS a recognizable language to mankind.

I believe the Bible, but I'm also not a Fundamentalist.

Speaking in tongues is speaking a real earthly language that you didn't learn to speak. Many times God has spoken through people this way to reach an unbeliever. The unbeliever believes in God without a doubt when they know the person doing the speaking never learned the language they were speaking.

I wasn't trying to be arrogant njajat...if you knew me you would know that was as far away from my nature as you could get. I am just saying that the only people who believe speaking in tongues isn't real are the ones who never have.

Well, to the people that don't believe in tongues, I can promise you it is true. Believ or not, whatever you feel, but i have the Holy Ghost, I speak in tongues, and through gods power, ive even rebuked demons. I promise to you all that speaking in tongues is real, and it's not something you can learn. I ask, I beg you to email me if you have any questions about speaking in tongues.
I don't believe people can speak in tongues. I believe that God has his holy language but we can't speak it. People are just making repetitive nonsense sounds. I am a Christian but this is one thing I don't believe in.

It is matter if you believe the Bible. If you believe the Bible, the scripture plainly makes the case and examples for it. Jesus promised it. Read Mark 16:16

What I've yet to have explained to me is how can a "minister of the word" have a some clown deliberately fake speaking in tongues right in his face and not be able to tell? None of the ppl present in the video could but of all people I would think a preacher of this sort would be an expert on talking in tongues, if he or the act of talking in tongues is legit. Would the apostle Paul have been duped in his day by a con man looking to make a quick buck by drawing a few laughs faking the spirit?

Do you see the whole video? Would you not agree that this video was spliced, arranged to make the most of the point they were driving at?
From what I have heard... after this there were a number of pointed conversations... I don't think they ever Knew he was a charlatan, but there was some questions...
but you can't undo what has been done, now can you?
