I would take all the actions I could against the injustice without violating my moral code. I see your consequentialist while I on the other hand follow virtue ethics.

So im guessing you'd just sit there and take the abuse. Who cares what you say, the man has done more good for the world than you so I think you should try to better your world and look at yourself before you start commenting on the negatives of others who have fought and worked to better the world. The path to progress isnt always pretty.
And this is all I have to say on this matter.

The actions you refer to were based on the injustice of the apartheid system. Mandela is a great man and I know that the vast majority of people agree with me.

So injustices justify murder?
I am in no way claiming apartheid was a good system but to glorify people who start bloody confrontations and glaze over the horrors of which their compatriots committed only encourages future injustice and suffering.
As for everyone thinking Mandela was a great man, the universal fact is on any given topic the majority is not fully informed so the majority agreeing with you isn't really an arguement.

I view Mandela's life in its entirity weighing up good and bad.
Yes he was involved in acts of sabotage and his organization went on later to commit worse acts of violence.
What inspires people about Mandela though is how he suffered such a long period of inprisonment and then came out and oversaw a peaceful transition towards majority rule.
