On Sunday, September 20th, pop star and Colombian icon singer Juanes, along with other performers, went to Cuba.

They performed a live concert in Revolution Square. It is said that over 1 million Cubans attended.

This is my review of the concert and commentaries regarding it and any possible aftermath.

  • So you think people are not controled in the U.S, hahaha think again, all the medias are privatized as well as healthcare. All Capilatism, or Freedom really means is if that you have money you have freedom. "The fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to no one" - Rosseau...All in all, America is the biggest terrorist in the world. Peace brother.

  • Hi ordunorl. Of course, I could not disagree with you more. The US and Capitalism, while not perfect, is the best system - in practice - in the world. There is freedom here. You just have to remember that you cannot have freedom without laws. Even in Mexico, where you're at, you have access to post your comment freely - on the Internet. In Cuba, there is no such freedom at all.

  • So what you are saying with the first comment is that the inocent youth of Cuba, who no nothing of having freedoms can't enjoy a free concert because the leaders of that Goverment are sociaist pigs. Why do you want them to suffer?

  • Hi ahg266. I don't want anybody to suffer. What I want is for those young and old people to have basic human rights, political prisoners freed, and a democracy. I want the innocent youth in Cuba to have accent to the Internet, media, be free, and, yes, enjoy concerts. But, not in the face of a totalitarian regime that continues to oppress them and has exiled many others. The only attention given to Cuba should be to pressure the current regime OUT.

  • The Berlin wall fell shortly after the youth of that city began to see what the other other side of the wall were enjoying. This needed to happen.

  • All I can do it hope your thoughts happen and are true. But I doubt it. Cuba is a different story, unfortunately. The Pope's visit didn't help much either.

  • 8:27 is a logical fallacy... i agree that the human rights don't exist in Cuba but at least the people got to see a concert that wasn't controlled by Castro and his brother, for 4-5 hours they were the audience of international stars and not a a Castro driven speech...these artists meant well to bring entertainment to the Cuban people, it was not a political concert and of course it wouldn't change anything but the Cuban people in attendance were happy.

  • Dat dude with the hat is a fucking murder!

  • @pizzaboy180 being down with Che doesnt mean your a communist che was a communist to the fullest it means believing in something to the end

  • @ahg266 thats exactly how cuban americans are they complain about cuba bekause their grandparents planted that seed in them I have too many political family dead from the war in el salvador cubans has this obsession to see fidel get overthrowned EVERY COUNTRY IN LATINO AMERICA IS DYING OF HUNGER AND THERE NOT COMMUNIST...

  • i totally agree with u xaves511, i like u am of spanish decent, but i was born and raised here in the U.S. It's true what u say it is a slap in the face when these artist go and perform. At the end of the day they come home to there luxuries and nothing changes. Great Work!

  • Artist should always go to Cuba.. those people need things like that that let them know they are humans! they wish they could see that more often. My enetire family is in Cuba and they enjyed it very much and hope that they will keep doing this again! It is sad the way Cuba is still a communist country, but we cdant condem the people living there prohibiting them from concerts like the one Juanes planned. I hope they keep doing this and positive change finally comes to my country! God Bless
