MTV VMAs are far from a "shining moment". Let's be honest, a VMA is as close to critical acclaim as the Earth is to the Sun.

Kanye provided some much needed comedy to a show filled with mid-level talents patting themselves on the back for the best use of million dollar production budgets. Spare me the "shining moment" lectures. She's a country/western singer. It's arguable that this may not have even been the genre in which she was trying to excel.
