Personally, I'm a combat sports fan, and think that both sports can (and have) coexisted. I have a preference (MMA), but a market share for both sports will continue to exist. Both sports will also make improvements to gain viewers, endorsement and sponsorship dollars, and media attention.

Oscar was the best, 4 a long time, at his weight...everybody knows he should have won against felix trinidad but de la hoya will always be remembered as the fastest hands in the world to me... he could still give striking lessons to many mma fighters/ boxers out there. respect to oscar!

@sf2explus I bet that you wouldnt last one round with a mma fighter. I've boxed for 7 1/2 yrs & had a boxing record of 13-0. Ive also done brazilian Jiu Jitsu & other mma sports, but boxing is in reality a very limited art of fighting (you can only throw punches). Boxers do not know take down defense & can't stop mma fighters because they specialize in both stand up fighting & on the ground fighting. Boxers are usually take down & submitted in reality and this has already been proven many times
