A rare beast indeed a single deck Olympian from the 50's. This one was new to Fishwick of Leyland and you will be driven to the Fishwick depot

  • I'm just wondering Leyland made this underfloor engined single deckers in 1950's, with the same name of the popular rear-engined double deckers in 1980's oAo

  • who do i e mail to ask if my husband can drive one of these buses for his birthday , he is a bus driver many thanks

  • I have part-owned, and driven a single deck Atlantean, but never realised it was pre-dated by a single deck Olympian. Thank you for posting this excellent video.

  • This is what I used to ride to school on in the '50's and '60's. These were part of the Jamaica Omnibus fleet. They provided public transport to the Kingston metropolitan area in Jamaica. They were made in three lengths, there was the "A","B" and "C" series. The "C" was later renamed "O". The "A" busses were assigned to areas in the city with very narrow streets. These were all later replaced with the "G" series and still later the "L" series. In 1968 I joined the J.O.S. as an apprentice.

  • What's that rattling. Was it carrying a load of bricks.

    Keep up the great videos!

  • Actually the funny thing is that it looks a lot like a Leyland Tiger Cub, also another thing that confused me didnt they start to make Leyland Olympians Double Deckers in the 1980's? i'm actualy 100% sure its a leyland tiger cub, go look at the pictures on

  • I can see tht the steering of the leyland is heavy. Singapore SBS Transit Leyland Olympian 3-axles the steering is also heavy.

  • Seeing this video, it brought back old memories from my hometown Groningen The Netherlands. The GVG (local undertaking) had Leylands since 1955, in total 29 Tiger Cubs (all with O.350- and O.375-engine), 27 Royal Tiger Cubs (O.600) and 17 LVS (Leyland-Verheul LVS). The cubs were my youngest memories, dashboard alike to the Fishwick 7.

    Regards,

    Jan Emmelkamp
