I don't believe nonsense like 'laying on hands' in today's times. I like to keep an open mind, but with televangelists out there sucking up money with there 'miracle manna' nonsense, hard not to be a skeptic.

Hi there. But God's word doesn't change to fit todays times. We need to be careful who we listen to, the world will mock and scorn but Jesus said when He comes will he find faith on the earth? Christians need to keep their minds renewed by the word and abide in Christ, or they can end up scornful like the world.

I don't mean to ridicule at all, but do you believe that people today (in the sense of the miraculous healings on television sort of thing, eyeball being grown back into it's socket from prayer, the lame being able to walk from a pastor/priest touching them) are true? Again, i'm not trying ridicule or prove a point, i'd just like to understand why.

I attend (off and on) a church where people believe in a sense that God, being omnipotent can do what he likes, and that if he decides that after hearing a prayer, he will answer it with a miracle. They believe it is possible. We thank god in prayer for the blessing of life, and Jesus, and they pray sometimes for safe travel or to let someone be healed of some ailment. I only ever pray for thankfulness or forgiveness, I just don't believe that he is granting anybody the power to heal.

The Lord works miracles through the faith of His people. Have you ever prayed the sinners prayer? I mean have you repented of your sin and asked jesus Christ to come into your life as your personal Saviour?

Hebrews 13:8 states Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever! So, if He healed over 2000 years ago then it make sense that he would heal today as well; no matter what others might tell us.
