How the Tuskegee Airman fought for freedom on the social battlefield at home, as told trough the life of Dr. James B. Williams. Like so many Tuskegee Airman, Williams was determined to succeed in life, after the military!

  • What a sad story about racism back then.

    I thank the tuskegee airmen for escorting my dad's bomb wing on many occasions.I didn't know that there was also a tuskegee bomb squadron as well.

    There was indeed a fire and many records were lost (including my fathers).

    Fortunately my father saved all of his military records and orders so I was able to save his history after he passed away.

    I am so glad that Dr. Williams had a good life after his military service.

    They truly helped to change the world with their determination. Even though there was racism, there were many white Americans who were open to change. We have much to be proud of as we celebrate how far we've come, even though we still have work to do.

    • 1 destroyer sunk by P-47 machine gun fire

    • Sixty-six pilots killed in action or accidents

    • Thirty-two pilots downed and captured, POWs

    • 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses earned

  • No, sadly my dad passed away in 2004.
