The only one who is "getting rude" would be the redneck in the video who likes to throw out random stereotypes about people or the A & M fan who stated "Fuck you your hippies". I'm sure you are an intelligent person given that you attend grad school at Berkeley and you can recognize dumb comments when you hear/see them. All jibes aside though, the person who started all this is the guy in the video and whoever decided to post it on youtube to show this kind of ignorance to the world. When you throw out stereotypes about one group of people and can't take them about your own culture/school that is called hypocrisy-not "irony" as you so cutely use in your comment.

TAMU's traditions are no different than any other school. Only thing is that TAMU fans like to believe that they are so unique. Only thing is that the Aggie Band is really bland and boring. It's just a bunch of military kids playing instruments. I'm at the University of Florida and they're also in the South and this school is also similar to Berkeley in many respects. Even their game day traditions.

Stop talking TAMU up like it's something extremely special. It is not. 45-10

how are your traditions hard to understand and explain? It's pretty basic and generic. If you're talking about this video, these traditions are pretty much everywhere. And I don't know if we resent Texas pride and tradition any more than the next state.

In grad school at Cal, a Latina, and am a memeber of the Fightin' Aggie Class of 2007! WHOOP! and one thing that Cal people always resent it our sense of pride and tradition. A&M has its problems, its in the South, its in Texas, but people care about changing the world and making a difference just as much as they do at Cal. Our traditions are hard to understand and explain to outsiders, but its all meant to good fun. So settle down bear fans, no need to get rude, and be ready for next season.
