Rainbow City Band performs "Opening Night On Broadway" arr. Michael Brown. This performance is from RCB's 10th anniversay concert entitled "Broadway Baby".(3/22/2008)
@CAPbuglecommander this is def.how the song goes. I should know. We are playing it like this band and my conductor is a drummer and knows what hes doing.
like that part where it says springtime for hitler. That made the whole entire band laugh :D but my favorite part is the measure before 135 where it says
All these comments about a community band of avocational artists are just plain rude and typical for young students in high school and college who have little to say that would be constructive. I cannot wait until you all get a bit older and have more experience under your belt. Perhaps respect will follow!
we played this song for my wind ensemble class and at the "always look on the bright side of life" part we took it alot faster than you did and i think it sounded better.
I agree with UNISMAGIC. I'm playing several percussion instruments in this song for my school. The drum set part needed to be brought out more I thought, and also the xylophone part.
This is a community band. And a group I know very well. Its a terrific performance. Like all non professional ensembles there is some performance issues but the spirit is alive. So lets cool the negative comments. I am sure they did not post this clip to be criticized by anyone.
played this in band and when Circle of Life came on with the(especially the percussion part) i just wasn't able to sit still.. love<3

The tempo for this song is all wrong when performed by this band.
