Dead Rising Perfect Run 8-1: Life During Wartime

8-1:
Since I took a photo of the open duct on the roof right at the start of my run, I can talk Jonathan, Brett, and Alyssa into coming with me right away. They aren't as helpful during this run as they have been in the past; for example, if I'm able to go get them before I make the Movieland rescue, they're damn near invaluable; you can park them in the theater lobby and let them depopulate most of the area. Here, though, the timing just didn't work out.

I open both doors of the Huntin' Shack before I go in to give myself a much bigger target to dive for. It proceeds to not work out too well for me, but the basic principle is still quite valid.

Attacking Jonathan at any time during the conversation will instantly and permanently aggro all three survivors, even if Jonathan continues some or all of the conversation. Since Brett is wielding a machine gun, this is a problem. They'll stop shooting at you if you leave the gun shop, but they can no longer be rescued.

It's worth noting here that there's a glitch involving Brett and Alyssa. If you set a checkpoint for them before they've gotten out from behind the counter of the Huntin' Shack, they'll both forget how to jump, and will thus become stuck behind the counter.

Wait a second if u hit them during the convo if i'm not mistaken they do stop the convo like he said. But as far as them not being saved I think they can be. Can't u just leave north plaza and re enter wouldn''t that reset" the convo n what happened its like making them forget that u hit them? i can't seem them not being savevable unless u defected them

If you encounter a survivor and do not recruit them, leaving the area they're found in causes their health to deplete at a quick, steady rate. If you activate Jonathan, Brett, and Alyssa as hostile, then leave the North Plaza, they'll all die two minutes later.

Hah I remember when I used to always flock towards the duel mini chainsaws because they were the best. It doesn't matter now, because I have the lightsaber and the Megabuster. Btw when you went to the north plaza, why didn't u use the duct and go through wonderland? It's much faster.

It's actually much faster to cut through Leisure Park at level 50 than it is to make a side trip through Wonderland, especially when running across to the food court puts you at risk from the convicts.

@stolisomancer he does sorta. He "times out" at 5pm but by then u should have found him or got him on a saint run by that point. He does hold out for a while but he does indeed despawnby 5pm on day three.

@FelixRodriguez i do since I always rescue Brett ( he's my fav mall survivor for obvious reasons) They spawn on Day three @ 1:00 am the spawn before Gill but after Kindell.

Wow, I ended up just killing the two dudes but then Alyssa stopped shhoting me, but I couldn't figure out what you had to do to have them follow you, but I never thought about taking a picture of the air duct.
