If I ever meet a chick with a bass amp in her purse she's getting a marriage proposal on the spot.

@Pinstripedtie Hey there, sorry you feel that way about these amps but to let you in on a secret. Fender owns SWR and they make their amps out of the same exact things...basically, they have the same guts just different shells. As far as the bass goes on this amp, there is TONS of headroom, but for me I particularly like to eq my amps with a little bit more high frequencies. Its all in taste, I will upload a video to actually show you how the frequencies work on this amp soon. =)

If you're interested in compact bass amps, might I suggest trying out the Ashdown MiBass? Also, Genz Banz and Eden have some interesting stuff, too.

Her style and sound reminds me of a cross between Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke.

@NikWestBass your right on the money with the passive bass statement about tone with the fenders, but you had to take it there with the mm 4 string, your right about the weight but there is nothing that sounds as awesome as a 1977 mm like the one Louis Johnson was slappin around like a red headed step child back then!!

@NikWestBass passive use to be my preference too, the controls were easy to dial in and it had plenty of percussive thump, i been getting good deals on active jazz basses lately and that is one thing that seems to be lacking about them the percussive thumps like the passive basses especially if your doing finger funk and slappin which i love to do.

@shinnecockwarrior I agree... I tend to go for the basses that can give me the old school sounds. Preamps tend to color the tone of the natural wood of the bass. My Fender six string is active, but it is more of a boutique bass so that's okay. Although the MM 4 string sounds really GREAT! (too heavy for me) These passive basses give me FENDER tone and no batteries needed. =)
