M1's engine was a 3.5ltr straight six that was originally used in BMW saloon by then. ///M division tweaked it and used it on the M1. The funny thing is that Lotus uses Toyota engines that is based on BMW's 3,5ltr old engines.
Now for the Mclaren. I know that it's powered with BMW's 6.1ltr v12 engine and you can the " BMW ///M Power" words are written all over the engine. So i don't see what Merc have to do with it. Now go fuck ur self :)

Well.. Actually I think this video is probably accurate. Only the later model 997 TT's have dual clutch PDK which is WAY better than the old school Tiptronic torque converter tranny. A manual or PDK 997 TT would rip this M6 which is shown in other vids on this profile.

the problem is with any rear view drive car that you won't get the traction from the lights. The car has to be rolling. This is where 4 wheel drive cars have an advantage and i think the advantage is not being shown properly. Rolling races are also good as they show which car is quicker in respect to torque, hp and weight.
With standstill races it comes down to the driver as a small mistake and the race could be lost so is not a true reflection of the power of the cars. roling elimates this

no wayyyyy impossible !!!!!! this is a fake video

you sayin funny things

Another massive advantage of 997 Turbo is the outstanding tuning potential - any tuned BMW M6 on this planet = very very slow car compared with, let's say Porsche 997 Turbo Switzer P800. If you own a stock Porsche 997 Tubo - invest less than 50K USD and get Bugatti level of performance. If you have a BMW though, you should rather sell it - you will not go seriously faster than the stock one (Please don't mention that G-power crappy tuning programme for 100K+ euro).
-
The thing I love about BMW though - it is really cheap compared to the 997 Turbo. Prices start from 35K euro, that is a very cool car for the money.

Don't believe me? Just watch another m5board video: "HD: Porsche 997 Turbo vs BMW M5 E60 modded (550HP)". If you do know just anything about cars than you do realise that BMW M5 = BMW M6 in a straight line. Make your conclusions about this one. Anyway - in the real life conditions - gap between these 2 can be shocking - BMW does lose badly I have to say. 4 wheel drive + a lot of torque - that is the way to go.
-
Something is very wrong with this particular Turbo. In the real life conditions - there is nothing to compare, thanks to its 4-wheel-drive - 997 Turbo just destroys M6 from the standing start, and is way faster at any speeds.
-
@justincrap Porsche 997 Turbo Mk1 is way faster than BMW M6 at any speed. Stop talking bullshit noob.

@terencefication Huh? u guys don't know anything. Check my runs with 997 Turbo it had custom air intakes and it couldn't do anything. The old 997 is no match for the M6. And if u remove the limiter off the M6, the 997 better go home. The new PDK Turbo is the real deal. The M6 is getting old for the mission, i mean its been out since 2004. The new M6 with 600HP and Double-Clutch-Transmission and lighter weight + monsterous aerodynamic with be just scary. Still, The current M6 is the 204mph car.

This is a rolling start,
M6 actually has a higher top speed than the 911turbo,
So if the porsche fanboys can calm down now...
But yes, the Porsche manual beats the m6 in the same race
what are the mods on the M6 ?
