Will Makar performs Gavin DeGraw's "Chariot" using a Digitech Vocalist 4. Will found this machine in one of the studios during some recording downtime, and spent the week working with it in his free time. The Digitech adds harmonies, reverb, delay, etc., by hitting different pedals with your feet.

  • Hey, it's Wayne. I shot this video of Will. You're all correct, Will does have an amazing voice, and he was just playing with something he found in the studio that he thought was hilarious.

He did all kinds of songs that day, often we were laughing so hard he had to stop singing. We just decided to film this song, since it was his audition song for Berklee. (Without the digitech...) Thanks for watching!

  • Its all how you use it and this guy knows how to use it the way it shoul be.

  • I always loved Will's voice, even though he was super young when he was on AI. I hope his career is still going well in 2011!

  • @Whoaonthetrigger Yeah you can use it without guitar quite easily, but you have to know what key your singing in :)

(its usually the first note of the song your singing)

  • Dude I use this at all my gigs and when you first started trying it out..Well. I nearly wet my pants.(just kidding) Blows you away. wow.. Awesome- One fellow Berklee to another..-John Russo

  • by the way, i love what you did coming out of that bridge with the "make we wanna spread my arms"... way better than the original version in my opinion. gives me chills every time.

  • i play every friday at a club and the guy who plays before me uses this digitech thing and he sounds like absolute shit. the dude can't sing a lick. he's always off-key but he's so stupid he doesn't recognize it. you do need an ear to use this thing properly.

  • Does this Digitech need to be plugged into a guitar at all? Can it work with just vocals and no intruments? I see you're doing it here , how does it work? (=

  • Great song and sound. Make a recordable version for download on itunes.

  • @glenmann62 You know, people like you make me sick..the only thing you can do is find something WRONG with what this guy is doing. Instead you should be thanking him for being a great singer. Maybe you are so hateful because he is indeed better than you will ever be and that makes you jealous. You should check yourself before judging others....dumbass.

  • ohhh great demostration 5/5
