UPDATE: The Behemoth Boatyard, in a slightly smaller form, was approved by the City Commission WITH THE HELP OF COMMISSIONER CINDI HUTCHINSON, who voted against the residents and for the developer. The vote was 3-2.
SYNPOSIS: Citizens of Fort Lauderdale's Harbordale neighborhood show why a proposed 15-story, 387-foot-long boat storage facility is a terrible idea. It's WAY to huge for the proposed location on the border of a residential neighborhood, and it will create half a canyon directly behind the Southport Raw Bar. Plus, it will cast a shadow on the Norwich Condominium and other residential properties across the canal. Commissioner Cindi Hutchinson is being urged to oppose the project, but has not taken a public position on it. The city's professional planning staff politely trashed the monstrous boat storage facility as too big for its site. More at http://www.fortlauderdaleobserver.com
it's called money the dock company will have paid for the votes.
Any problems along the way who cares everyone got their money or free docks etc, everyone that votes that is.
