Christmas is not the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, you dumbshit. Jesus born sometime in the summer, so the Christians just hijacked the holiday that celebrated the winter solstice. That's okay, I wouldn't expect a theist to understand their own religion.

The irony of not including other holidays in the festivities being that they already do, as traditions like bringing a tree into the house to decorate, burning yule logs, wreaths, giving gifts, Sinterklaas, these things were all taken from pre-existing pagan holidays, which most Christians have no problem celebrating.

They're all idiots, on both sides. The Christians are dumb because they don't realize that Christmas isn't even really a Christian holiday, it was the Catholic Church's attempt to syncretize the Sun God pagan festival that was already on Dec. 25 in the 3rd century, when Christmas was first proposed b y the Church.

But the liberal Christians (and maybe some atheists/agnostics/Jews, who knows) on the other side of the argument are just as stupid, because it's a goddamn Christmas parade..

Most Theists don't. A survey showed that Atheists and Agnostics tend to be more knowledgeable on the subject of religion than the majority of believers. There's a direct correlation between intelligence and faith. The more intelligent the less faithful. Don't take my word for it look it up for yourselves.

This senator is a moron (oklahoma; no surprise there) but I like the christmas parade, because thats what time of year it is. Come on, if you live in the u.s, u know that there is nothing wrong with the secular christmas. Its the religious who will take away the spirit of the season.
