An indication of the changing tempo in the Priere is the "Rit poco a poco" mark at the bottom of the third page. Try "moving it on" a little in the middle section at least.

Like I said before.... This is one of my all time favorite pieces of organ music. Besides Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor I can't think of any classical piece more Gothic than Boellman's "Gothic Suite." :)

Bravo! Cheers from Brazil

@latribe Yes - as you said, to make the performance less disappointing. I think a Vox Balenae 64' would also add to the gravity of the piece.

@cliveso Chamades?

@swc789rjp It's not a matter of being know-it-all - I have simply tried to give some helpful tips to help a young performer achieve perfection well within their grasp.
Nowadays I spend more time promoting musicians than practicing and performing, but that does not detract from knowing and being able to pass on to others how it should be done.

@latribe How about some chamades? Bollocks...

Gabrielle Tessier (gabrielletessier) is also worth hearing in the Suite Gothique. She's recorded the whole Suite, like Minh Nguyen (pianorgano). For some reason she's only had a tiny fraction of the number of viewings that pianorgano has had, despite her recordings being to a higher standard technically.

@pianorgano Nice answer to the know-it-all creep "latribe"...I've always wished others would say the same thing when being questioned about their interpretations of organ music. NICE JOB!!! Nice playing, also.

u play an awesome mean organ
The Priere a Notre Dame is a lovely piece but this performance is disappointing - too mechanical and too slow. It's a good idea to start with the Voix Celeste and add a Leiblich on the second phrase and something else on the third phrase. And then on the repeated phrase, play the pedal an octave lower on one instance, followed by those left hand notes possibly on the Choir with a Clarinet or a Great Diapaison. I think a little rubato is quite admissable in this piece and can add to it.

The composer indication for tempo was : TRE'S LENT and you know what that means in French. Thanks for comments anyway. Can you show me your video clip of this piece so that I can learn from it ?
