friend works at Federal Ammo, that is a Minnesota based ammo company, Anoka, Minnesota, famous for the already popular and effective hydroshock, wich has been used by other ammo companies to make new patents similar to it. unfortunatly employees get no discounts, and discussion of ammo is kept low key, even though most know the ammo and how it works already.

@scienceinprogress Also, in terms of expansion, lighter bullets (such as 115gr.) tend to expand more, heavier bullets (such as 147gr.) tend to expand less, and bullest with medium weights (such as 124gr.) tend to be in between the 115 and the 147gr's in terms of expansion.

Grains means bullet weight. 9mm has 3 common weights: the 115gr., the 124gr. and the 147gr., although there are other less common weights for 9mm such as 100gr., 105gr., 127gr., and 135gr.. Each weight has its own set of characteristics, for example: 100gr. is the lightest & flies faster but has less stopping power, 147gr. is the heaviest & flies slower but has greater stopping power, 124gr. lies directly in the middle in terms of both characteristics.

what does the grain mean when you're talking about bullets? please respond, it would make my day to know this.
Have a question about the difference between the 134 gr. and 147 gr.- which one has the least amount of recoil?

@adamador
The 147 has less recoil, or least a softer push. Recoil is also subjective to the individual shooter. Alot of people think the .45 ACP has alot of recoil, yet I find it very pleasant to shoot.
