@johngalt9999 What we don't understand however is that pet macaws outnumber depleting wild ones. While deforestation and nest raiding continues for the love of money, our surviving captive bloodlines are loosing their true prescence due to the same green coincedentally. Theremore we are all animal lovers at heart but with conflicting cash interests on our minds yet we only blame each other for these problems.

Its so sad that people Get these Beautiful Birds and have no clue on how to care for them. A few months ago i knew next to nothing Macaws and Parrots in General. I have since made friends with a few birds from qrpr.org. Quail Ridge Parrot Rescue is a Local Rescue in Riverside county CA. Harlequins are macaw hybrids bred specifically for financial purposes. They are bred at the expense of the already endangered natural macaws. They ruin bloodlines and exterminate a species. In other words what we think seems cool and colorful is killing the future lives of the macaws themselves.

@StealthKnife correct. we didn't breed it. it's at a rescue after being given up by its owners. doesn't mean that hybrid birds don't deserve a home or to be cared for once created. and to my knowledge, they don't get released into the wild. they are only bred as pets. so it doesn't really do anything to the actual bloodline in the wild.
i definitely understand, however, why getting a hyacinth macaw to cross-breed with something else is a waste since they are so rare in the wild and captivity.

@MCMINI It is located in a very small town called Creston, which is in between DeKalb and Rochelle on Route 38/Lincoln Highway. About 20 miles south of Rockford. google olliesparrotsperch for more info.
