Westminster Conservative council leader Colin Barrow, a right piece of work. After making claims in the press that every penny counts (http://nutsville.com/?p=400) it was revealed he walked away from paying £19,186.71 in business rates after liquidating his Westminster based hedge fund company. ( http://tinyurl.com/34phgkb ) Only to run a similarly named company operating from the same address. Barrow has it seems no problem in leaving the residents and rate payers of Westminster to pick up the bill where hes concerned.

Outrageous! How can the leader of a council get away with a stunt like this? In any other borough he would have been sacked... or at least slithered off in shame.

Why do Westminster residents tolerate such staggering incompetence?

Their head of Finance has a CV that reads like catalogue of business failure, she has been sacked or resigned from nearly every job she has had!

There's yet another source of business rates burden- by the scientology cult who get an 80 percent reduction on their business rates in London- and all other (ethical) businesses and the public are paying for it.
