Power = Engine Speed x Torque.
The RS 125 uses a Rotax 122 cylinder and develops lots of power for its size by revving very highly. In order to rev this high, torque must be sacrificed which means that you can't pull away without slipping the clutch.
An RS is a single-cylinder bike with very little torque and relatively high power. At the other end of the spectrum, a trials bike cannot rev very highly but produces loads of torque; useful for getting the front wheel in the air.

ahh ok. i am sort of looking for it as a commuter bike, that ican have fun with on the weekend. Any alternate reccomendations?
I rebuilt one of these engines 18 months ago, rebuilding the top end is quite easy, you could probably do it in a weekend if its your first attempt. Having worked on two RS, the biggest problem I came across was seized bolts (bike left out in the rain too often). If you plan on doing any work yourself, looking after your bike will make the job much easier.

i was wondering why you had to rebuild? i want to get a rs125, but ive heard bad things for reliability.

The RS is not really suitable for riding around town - you will get sore wrists very quickly and you have to slip the clutch an awful lot to get moving. Similarly, if you want them to last for any length of time you will have to spend a considerable amount of time maintaining you bike and warming it up before journies. That said, they are great fun to ride once a week.

happy days, how'd you the rebuild? was it difficult to do?
got one of these bikes myself on an 03 plate which has only done around 2900miles so its a while yet till any engine work will be done on it but its good to know for future reference.

(Top end) Rebuilding the engine isn't too difficult - your first attempt will probably take you some time but you'll learn a great deal and be able to do it pretty quickly therafter. My biggest suggestion would be to keep your bike as dry as possible as the last one I worked on had loads of rust and seized bolts. In particular, keep an eye on the powervalve solenoid as they are especially prone to rusting.
