Jakarta, Indonesia. A total of 4541 couples from five different religions (Moslem, Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist ) of all ages and economically disadvantaged, celebrated "The World's Largest Inter Faith Wedding Ceremony" on Tuesday.
The ceremony was awarded by The Royal World Records. Irman Gusman, Governor of Jakarta who collected the award, said "once again Indonesia has showed to the world that it can grow together, hand in hand, no matter what religion you are."
The event was organized by Pondok Kasih Foundation and supported by B Channel TV Network as media anchor.
"The inability to secure a marriage certificate has meant a life of disadvantage, unclear citizen status, and denial of basic access to social benefits, education and jobs" said Hana Ananda, co-founder of Pondok Kasih Fundation " now their basic human rights, their status, is given to them."
