Hauling ponies with a '01 Dodge ram 24v cummins diesel

Here we are back in august hauling ponies with a friend of ours 2001 dodge ram 3500 24v cummins with all sorts of goodies on it such as tow chip, 6 speed manual, air ride suspension, and exhaust brake. It still has stock exhaust on it, that's why it smokes a little because all the back pressure isn't allowing the turbo to spool up quick enough to it tends to give out some smoke while shifting.

@Hotrodx199 Ahhh yes I hear ya on that one! The cummins is great but once things start to go wrong it can get expensive real fast. I am a member of the cummins forum and I read some of the horror stories and it scares the hell outa me. So far mine has been problem free but that might be because I follow the maintenance schedule religiously

@katana1150 I just have had nightmares with our last 24 valve and the money we spent into that thing could of got us a first gen cummins. I mean its easier to make power with a common rail because you just plug it in, but i just love mechanical diesels. They are easy to work on and no electronics to go wrong

@Hotrodx199 curious! why recommend a 12 valve? I have a 04 common rail dually and I love the power, slightly more fuel burn compared to a older 12 valve but not much more! Don't get me wrong I think the older 12 vavles are great but lots of 24 valve and HPCR for roughly the same money for sale.
