The correct spelling is not a mystery. Unfortunately, it's in Arabic letters. :) The problem is that there's no consistent Romanization scheme for them.

Goof: no one would ever order an Exocet strike against an air force--they're anti-ship missiles. The U.S. has never used them anyway.
