8th Grader hits 60 yd FG

Jake Van Ginkel nails a 60 yard field goal at Upland high school........the day before he graduates from 8th grade!

He made 58 and 57 yard FG`s in a Freshman game a few months later, and was named Maxpreps California All-State 1st team kicker after his Soph season.
He was also named to the Maxpreps All-America 1st team, and the EA sports/ESPN All-American 1st team.

First, I doubt that's an 8th grader. Second, try doing that with 230 pound defensive lineman rushing at you.

A Rugby ball is much easier to dropkick than an American football because it is rounder. American football players used to sometimes hit 60 yard dropkicks a long time ago before they made the ball more oval shaped to make it easier to pass.
