'Arwen's Dream Gown' Really easy dress, styled on one worn by Liv Tyler in (I think) Return Of The King.

I find this dress is best made out of a fabric with a little bit of stretch, I used grey jersey.

I think the video is pretty self explanatory but here's a few points that I thought might need clarifying. Please let me know if you get stuck and I'll do what I can do to help!

You'll need two rectangles of fabric, both the length from your shoulders to your ankles, one about 30cm wider than the width of your shoulders for the back and one about 40cm wider than the width of your shoulders for the front.

The first two lines of stitching you make are for the shoulder straps. Hold the back piece of fabric against yourself and mark in chalk in line with your bra straps.
Line the front piece up with the back piece. Join the pieces so that there is the same about of fabric on both edges and a greater amount in the centre of the front, this forms the cowl neckline.

  • Beautiful! I want to try this but I don't have a sewing machine and I don't know how well my stitching would be LOL

  • @tweekbutters yeah...you would probably need a sewing machine. if you can borrow one for an afternoon or something, i'd fully recommend having a shot at making this dress, probably the easiest thing i've ever made! anyway, it's very very good to be back online but i better go, lots of important uni stuff to do (booo) speak soon! x
