On June 26th, 2010 Sonrisa celebrated her quinceañera. She is the daughter of James and Margaret Adams, the owners of Adams Family Memories, an old time photo studio in Delavan, WI. http://www.adamsfamilymemories.com
Sonrisa had a simple quince. Her mother and grandmother sewed the dresses, her mother was the photographer, her father was the DJ, she and her mother cooked the food, her grandmother baked the cake, and friends and relatives decorated the hall and helped clean up. The mass was at St. Andrews church in Delavan, Wi. At the church the traditional gifts were presented to the quinceañera. The reception was at the United Church of Christ in Delavan. At the reception, there was a slideshow of Sonrisa growing up. Sonrisa then picked 15 people to say a couple of words and light each of the 15 candles. Everyone sang Happy Birthday, Sonrisa blew out the candles, and bit the top of the cake. Sonrisa and her court performed a dance, followed by a dance with her escort, and then a dance with her father. Later on in the evening Sonrisa and her court performed a surprise dance. She had family that traveled from across the country to attend her event. Her father's cousins drove all the way from Pennsylvania and her Uncle Ned Bruha, The Skunk Whisperer, and her Aunt Betsey came all the way from Oklahoma.
