50% of all black students drop out across America. What is wrong with teachers and the public school systems. If something isn't done soon whites will go back to believing we're an inferior race and stop spending money trying to educate us. BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP. PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE KILLING OUR RACE.

also school systems try to make it look like your kid is insane if he/she has a learning diability
and hide your absent notes and say you dident give them any

and teachers always lie with students ipe programs and give the real "wants to learn but has dislexia" the biggest disadvantage and fails students if they cant go present their project because of low self esteem
I work in a public school, one of the worst in Denver. Schools are failing for so MANY reasons! Everyone wants to place the blame on the teachers. While bad teachers do make up a portion of the problem, they represent but one slice in a huge failing pie. To say educators are ignorance engineers is IGNORANT. There are many teachers who dedicate their heart and soul everyday. The Department of Education is more accurately the engineer of ignorance and this is not by accident.

@lighttree2012 CORRECTION. I never blame anything on teachers. By "educators," I mean the people at the top, the ones who control everything. That essay can be found here: americanchronicle. com/articles/view/81867

@BruceDeitrickPrice Educator is a synonym for teacher, so you can see how one could make the mistake of assuming you were referring to teachers. I actually was in agreement with you up until that point. Words can be tricky like that. I don't think I am the only one that made this assumption. Perhaps a more specific title would better convey the message. It is, after all, an important message that needs to be conveyed.

@lighttree2012 I believe the Education Establishment encourages this confusion. "Educator" once referred to senior administrators and education theorists only. Usually I'm very careful to use such phrases as elite educators, Education Establishment, education commissars, etc. For me, picking on teachers would be like picking on soldiers. I'm interested only in the generals (you know, like General John Dewey).

My wife teaches in the public school system and has for 20 years. She will be the first to tell you that there are teachers that phone it in and programs that don't work. But, here is another fact. She just had conferences. The parent participation was UNDER 30% in her regular classes and 100% in her honors classes. Total blame of schools and teachers for our educational shortcomings is preposterous!

There is no mention in this video of teachers! I never discuss teachers or blame them for anything. In my view, teachers are as much victims as students and parents are.
The video speaks of "schools" and that's shorthand for "Education Establishment," "elite educators," "the collectivists at Teachers College," etc. The people who design and control the schools are the bad actors in this piece. In order to escape blame, these people are geniuses at inventing excuses.
