Mikhail Kalashnikov copied this from the MP44. It's obvious, the AK-47 was magically desinged during his recovery from field injury during WWII. It's specifically mentioned that the insides of AK-47 is almost identical to the MP44. The Russians would obviously never admit a copy. Also compare pics of the AK-47 to the MP44. They are virtually the same. Yes, there are improvements on the AK-47, but No this is not a "new" design. Germany is the founder of the assult rifle amongst other.

@eric9287 Kalashnikov copied the basic concept, but it is interesting (to real guns fans) how every little design component is so different:
-magazine housing
-breech lock
-safety system
-ejector port cover
To anyone who REALLY knows guns, they will see the M16 as more similar with the StG-44 rather than the AK47.
It's not how it looks in a video game, it's how it handles and operates. That's important.

@lubi125 in my opinion,hitler was a fool because he fought in 3 fronts (eastern front,england,nord africa) and he also declared war to USA,pfff...he should fight one enemy at a time,maybe then he had a chance.
germans are great nation,did many things at that time,search on wikipedia "nazi superweapons",you will be stunned,i assure you ! :D

Mikhail Kalashnikov would disagree (in fact he gets pissed off when people say that about the AK-47), besides they may look the same, but the interior is completely different...just like how the HK-416 is internally different from the M16
