this would make a awsome front sub. cuz it can take a lot of power and be in a small box(at least that's what i am guessing if it's an 8"). how big would a sealed or a ported box be for this sub?
-
sa8's are very impressive.i was in an s-10 with 1 sa8 on about 800wrms and it did 147.2db.way to go sundown. you guys are awesome.

Bottoming or clipping really bad
-
i wish i was able to build woofer's like this :(!
-
@arawndark how long did it take that wattage??
-
@ 16-18 seconds into the video, you can tell where the distortion starts, and if you look at the excursion at that point before it starts, it's quite impressive. For that much poewr in free-air, that seems to hold very well. Even after it's pushed, it holds well. Great sub, guys.

@arawndark Wow 1500 watts il have to try that on my six eights when i get em
-
i think ima buy 1 of thease to bs with for fun burp it on 3500 and see what i can do
-
dam looking at that dot that seems to be at least 2 inches of excursion thats pretty beasty for an 8
Is that flapping sound bad? At 18s there is a distinct sound change and at 28s it is practically flapping. New to subwoofers. Comments please? Thanks.

Yes, it is getting noisy -- we have it on a 1500-watt amp free air and I am pushing it WELL past what it should be doing after 18 seconds.

Tissle lead slap =[ ?
Whats the frequencies you put on this and at what power level ?

No, there is no regular lead slap (Brandon is joking in the video). They are flat, pressed on, and tied down leads. The cone can actually move far enough to tap where they come off the spider and attach to the terminal (over 20mm one way). We have an SAZ-1500D on it and that track drops to 20 Hz.
