we have a mowerconditioner sickler kind but we like to get rid of that and maybe buy a sickel like you how mutch do they cost and how many days do you let it dry before you bale

The sickle bar works well, and generates nice clean hay. The downsides are slower ground speed and a little less reliable than a disk cutter. I believe we paid about $4k for ours...

I have a great sickle bar, the only thing is my rake. i have a 4 wheel rake, it's hard to dry at times. what do you have to rake grass? and does it work well. ? thanks.

I use a New Holland Rollabar rake. Works well, but it's much narrower than the newer wheel-style rakes that most folks use these days, so it takes a while to rake my pasture. Rakes great though.

i have never seen a sickle mower work that good! disc mower is the only way to go for me. about how fast do you run when mowing?
eking928 2 years ago
Oh, we aren't going that fast, probably ~4-5 mph depending on the grass conditions. It seems to work pretty well though.
