please forgive me for my mistake!!!! River water, as the name implies, is similar to constant flow of tears, and indeed a very sad song. This tune was originally a China's northeast region folk song, then in the early 60's it was transpose into an erhu piece by Wang Shilu, Zhu Guangqing, Zhu Changan, and Gu Xinshan. It tells about a happy couple..., and the husband was sent off to work as a labour for the country's official....the wife realized later her husband was tortured in the worst possible way and soon died. This tune depicts the emotion of the woman.. similar to human voice crying, grief, mournful, frustrated, and anger as she bids farewell to her husband. It is played in 1=B flat and 1=C.
